Seeing Sarah and Ken together made Laura smile. It was a bit unexpected but then that was becoming par for the course, expect the unexpected. At least this was a pleasant surprise.

"Do you want to tell us about it Sarah?" Laura asked clearly concerned.

"Yes, I think it would help. Only not here. I don't know when they'll be back and I'd rather not be here when they do get back."

"Perfectly understandable." Steele said.

"You two were awfully fast. What did Carl and Bert say? You can't have been there long."

Steele smiled. "Well I would take credit for some measure of speed but truth is Carl and Bert didn't say much of any consequence really although if they had we'd have missed it. You see we haven't quite got there yet."

Both Steele and Laura were quiet on the way to see Carl and Bert. Lost in their own thoughts which as always were almost carbon copies.

Laura was thinking of the magical moments they had been able to snatch from the hand of time and how wonderfully they had used it. She glanced at her husband and loved that he could still make her heart race. Once again she felt very blessed that they had each other. She looked forward to feeling this way for many years to come.

Reluctantly for she would have liked to have indulged in such thoughts she switched to think instead of the task ahead of them.

Steele was also thinking of their time alone. His gorgeous wife never failed to amaze him and he hoped she never would. He had been given a wonderful gift in Laura and he loved that his heart still flipped at the sight and thought of her. He looked forward to that feeling being with him and in him for many years to come.

Although he was loathe to he made an effort to focus not on his lovely wife but rather the task ahead.

Ken arrived back at the Steele agency just as Laura and Steele were leaving to meet Carl and Bert. He was in two minds about going to see the Winters, he really didn't want to see Sarah and yet he did. Then he thought about Misty. What if her baby was his? He felt like crying but knew he wouldn't, couldn't and shouldn't either. How had he screwed up so royally? His father always said he would, always told him what a disappointment he was. He considered calling him and saying "Hey Pop! Guess what, for once I didn't let you down. I'm the loser you always said I'd be. Hope you're proud." But decided that even thinking that way made him one. He sighed and thought surely something had to be easy. Life and love, people and relationships were all so complex.

When Laura saw him she was worried because he looked so down and out. So confused that she felt quite sorry for him. Only a day or two ago she could never have imagined feeling anything but disdain for him and his arrogance. Now she had to wonder just what face that arrogance masked. Before he had time to hide it she felt she had a glimpse of the real Ken, a sad confused and lonely little boy.

Once Ken had left to pay a visit to Bert Daly and Carl Woodhouse the office seemed very big and very quiet.

"I'm regretting letting Kevin and Mildred have Sophie now Laura. It simply isn't natural or normal to work in an office this quiet. It certainly does little to create an atmosphere conducive to productivity."

"Hhhmm well of course we didn't realise then that things would go the way that they did and that we'd even be here. I think it's good for her to get to spend time with them though."

Steele slipped his hands around his wife's tiny waist. "There are however some definite advantages to having this place all to ourselves. I'm sure there are still some shall we say uncharted waters around here."

Laura was tempted to do exactly what her husband suggested but settled for a deep, lingering kiss that left her mind and senses swirling.

Seated in Steele's office the unlikely team began to assess the task ahead.

"We really don't have much time, do we." Laura said. "After all they probably won't be able to hold her long."

"At least we know where she is for the moment." Steele replied.

"I just wish we knew who if anyone was in on this with her."

"Did the two of you suspect anyone in particular?"

Laura looked at Ken weighing up what exactly to tell him. "Probably everyone at some point I have to admit."

"And also none of them." Steele added.

"Same with me, I think it's the perfect plan getting us to suspect each other but then it is possible she does have someone within the group working with her. She's certainly confused me."

"Ken, if you don't mind me asking, why did the news of Misty's pregnancy have such an affect on you?"

Steele nodded, "Yes I'd like to know the answer to that too. To be honest Carmichael you looked absolutely stunned."

Running after Minor Laura yelled "Stop that woman!"

At the uninterested looks she was receiving from passers by she added, "She took his wallet!" pointing to Steele.

"Yes", Steele managed "I think she took my wallet!"

By now Minor had stopped running but was out of reach. Obviously feeling bold she taunted. "Weren't those lines in Back to the Future 2? Really Mr Steele I thought you'd be over this fascination of yours with movies by now! Still it has come in handy, hasn't it my friend?"

When they arrived at the studios Laura was rather surprised that once again almost everyone else had reached the destination before them.

"Do you think any of them know the speed limit on our roads?" she asked Steele.

"Laura most of the time I have to admit I think the same about you. However you do make a valid point they do seem to arrive everywhere ahead of us."

As they walked towards the others waiting at the entrance both were taking stock of who had arrived.

"Looks to me it's everyone else bar Sarah and the Winters. What do you suppose Carmichael is doing?"

At his question Laura looked at Carmichael. He was standing over Misty in a rather threatening manner. It looked like Cathy was trying to talk to him.

"Let's get over there quickly Harry that doesn't look good."
